AI FOR LOGISTICS AND TRANSPORT

A dispatch plan that reads WhatsApp and listens to the planner

An AI agent turns the orders that arrive by chat, voice note, phone and email into order lines, plans tomorrow around the company’s trucks and its customers’ hours, and changes the plan when the planner says what happened.

WHERE MOST TRANSPORT COMPANIES ARE

INTAKE

Orders typed twice

A WhatsApp about three crates, a call note and an email with an engine’s dimensions are all copied by hand into software that expects typing.

PLANNING

One planner, one evening

The plan lives in one person’s head until it is printed, and it does not survive the urgent job at half past nine.

KNOWLEDGE

Rules nobody wrote down

The planner knows which customer accepts a late return and which load needs which trailer, but the system does not.

WHAT CHANGES WITH AN AI AGENT

ORDER INTAKE

A chat message becomes an order line

The agent records the customer, places, pieces, size, weight and times, links each to the words it came from, and drafts a question for anything missing.

NEXT-DAY PLAN

Tomorrow’s plan in one request

Every ready job is placed on a truck that respects delivery windows, breaks and site times, and any job left over shows why.

CHANGES

The planner changes the plan in one sentence

The planner can write in English or Chinese. The agent shows what would run late, changes nothing until someone clicks Apply, and every change can be undone.

URGENT JOBS

Same-day jobs come back as options

The agent offers two or three options, each showing the truck, the cut-off timing and the effect on other customers.

RULES

The planner’s experience becomes rules

“Engines always go on an air-ride trailer,” said once, is kept in the planner’s words and applied from then on.

THE SAME JOB, BEFORE AND AFTER

A dispatch desk re-plans after an accident and a late engine. Before: calls, chats and a whiteboard. With the AI agent: the planner writes one sentence, the agent re-plans on the live map and checks with the customer, and the planner clicks Apply.

A TYPICAL DAY

  1. Through the day, orders arrive. Each becomes an order line.
  2. 17:30. “Plan tomorrow.” The planner corrects it in plain words, and late jobs turn red.
  3. 8:00. The sheets go out. Each driver gets the day’s jobs on phone or paper, and the control view shows every truck.
  4. 9:30. An urgent job arrives. The planner picks one of the options, and the sheets update.
  5. 11:00. A truck is held at a gate. After one sentence from the planner, the agent proposes moves and drafts messages for the affected drivers and customers.

WHAT STAYS WITH PEOPLE

The agent never moves a job on its own, and its messages to customers and drivers are drafts for a person to send. Over-width loads are flagged for permit and escort checks.
